Summer in Mara is a farming and crafting RPG set on an island, on which players build a comfortable and profitable home for main character Koa. As one might expect, island life is a little different from running a farm or workshop on the mainland as one typically does in farming and crafting RPGs.
The Summer in Mara Kickstarter promises players will be able to fish, ocean dive, and travel to other islands to trade with other characters. It’s hard not to be endeared to the game’s clear The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker and Studio Ghibli-inspired visual style.
At the time of this writing, Mara has garnered just over $100,000 in pledges on Kickstarter from 3,800 backers.
The game has reached its minimum funding goal but is now pushing into stretch goals, with the next two being the ability to customize Koa’s outfit at around $125,000 and animal breeding mechanics at around $147,000.
The Summer in Mara Kickstarter is running for another 10 days, so it is very possible the game could reach its lofty goals.
